Find An Enjoyable Way To Unwind

This can be anything that takes you out of yourself. Below are some of the methods used by the participants on one of a psychologist's anxiety management seminars:

  • taking a nap
  • a long walk with the dog
  • reading to children

  • cleaning or tidying up

  • doing crosswords
  • going out with friends

  • dancing
  • birdwatching
  • playing a sport
  • watching an engrossing film
  • reading an engrossing book

Remember, it is important to make some time for yourself, to do what you enjoy doing. This 'down time' is not a luxury. It is an absolute requisite for mental and physical health.
